- November, 2004: Vanguard Health System
Selects WMC for Seimens-SMS MedSeries4 Implementation Support
- Vanguard Health System has engaged WMC's Consulting Group
to provide project support for its implementation of Siemens-SMS
MedSeries4 applications at Louis Weiss Memorial Hospital
in Chicago, IL. WMC project management and applicaiton specialists
will provide remote and on-site consulting, support, and
application training duties under the direction of the hospital's
project management and Vanguard CIO, Susan Kruzan.
- October, 2004: WMC Signs Value-Added
Reseller Agreement with Universata - Western Midrange
Corporation continues to expand its product and service
offerings to the healthcare community by announcing the
addition of PHI-nd IT Personal Health Information Release
Management Service to its list of services. PHI-nd IT is
an innovative and robust product developed by Universata,
Inc., located in Germantown, MD. PHI-nd IT allows a healthcare
or related organization to track incoming requests and release
them in a HIPAA compliant manner. PHI-nd IT has virtually
no operational impact and is an important part of speeding
up HIPAA-related delays with insurance open accounts, medical
records release, amendments, verification, and a host of
other organizational activities impacted by HIPAA.
Western Midrange Corporation will provide
several value-added features and services to its PHI-nd
IT customers, including integration support for EMR systems,
and VIRTUALForm document management support, including
production and mailing services through its PrintBill
Statement Services Division.
- June, 2004: Park City Solutions Selects
WMC for Integration Support at Sutter Health - Park
City Solutions, a WMC Strategic Alliance Partner has tapped
WMC resources to support the implementation of their emPOWERnet
Physician Portal for Sutter Health. WMC will provide HL-7
interface programming and Siemens-SMS MedSeries4 application
expertise to complete the installation of Physician Portal
services for the Sutter Health organization. Sutter Health
is currently in the early stage of implementation a long-term
IT "makeover" strategy for its 26 hospitals and
many outpatient provider locations in California.
- May, 2004: IBM eServer iSeries Announcement
- IBM announces the next generation of IBM eServer®
iSeries servers: the IBM eServer i5 520 and the IBM
eServer i5 570. The new eServer i5 server is the industry's
first server based on IBM
POWER5 technology and it is designed to reduce
complexity, help simplify your infrastructure and enhance
productivity. Featuring support for multiple operating systems
and application environments on a single, simplified platform,
the eServer i5 servers help you do more with ntegrated,
powerful servers offer an on demand computing environment
for IBM i5/OS (the next generation of OS/400), IBM
AIX 5L, IBM WebSphere®, Microsoft® Windows®
and Linux solutions. Flexible growth options, resource virtualization
and intuitive management tools mean that IBM eServer i5
servers can provide not only the power and capacity to run
core business applications, but also the freedom and scalability
to add new e-business applications on on the same server.
- February, 2004: Henry Mayo Newhall
Memorial Hospital Signs Consulting & Technical Service
Agreement for Patient Safety/Bar-coding Initiative -
Henry Mayo has retained Western Midrange Corporation to
provide management consulting, technical services and VIRTUALForm
technology to support a comprehensive Patient Safety Initiative
in conjunction with Cardinal Health - Pyxis systems. WMC
will enable Henry Mayo's current Keane First Coast System's
HIS implementation to support information exchange with
Pyxis Bedside terminals and bar-code systems. WMC will also
provide bar-code enabled form generation technology to convert
the hospital's preprinted paper forms to electronically
generated documents. WMC's VIRTUALForm technology,
IBM AS/400/iSeries expertise, and its experience with the
Keane FCS applications were in part responsible for the
decision to engage WMC in support of this project.
- January, 2004: Western Midrange Corporation
CEO, Dennis Hauze, steps down from Utah Telehealth Commission
- Dennis Hauze, Chairman and CEO of Western Midrange
Corporation has resigned after 4 years as a Commissioner
and past-chairperson for the Utah Telehealth Commission.
Mr. Hauze was appointed to the Commission as a founding
member by Utah's former Governor Michael O. Leavitt. Governor
Leavitt recently accepted a call from President George W.
Bush and has been confirmed by the US Senate to head the
the offices of the Environmental Protection Agency as its
Director. Mr. Hauze decided to leave the Commission after
the change of administration with Governor Olene Walker
taking over the reigns of the Executive Office to make way
for a new appointee to serve in her administration. Mr.
Hauze intends to continue to work as a private citizen to
further the cause of Telehealth initiatives and the delivery
of remote health services using digital means.
- March, 2003: Daughters of Charity Health
System requests business and technical support from Western
Midrange Corporation - DOCHS through St. Vincent Medical
Center (SVMC), Los Angeles, CA., has directed its Information
Services MSO (Perot Systems) to engage Western Midrange
Corporation. Under the terms of the engagement, WMC will
provide management and IT technical support to SVMC's revenue
cycle process improvement program. WMC business and technical
analysts will work directly with accounting resources provided
by BearingPoint, Inc., and the hospital management.
